Here are the steps to safely do it OR call the Doctors to take care of it for you!
You bought that new 80" TV! Great! But now you have to figure out how to hang it without it coming crashing down during the big game!
Here are some helpful steps to ensure it doesn't end up shattered like the backboard after a Shaq dunk!
Step one: get the correct mount. The type of mount you need will depend on the size and style of your TV, as well as where you plan to install it. If you get the wrong mount...well bad things happen. For example, do you want a mount that will tilt, pull out, or rotate? These are all important things to consider.
Step two: Choose the right spot. Consider factors such as glare, the angle of the TV, and the distance from where you're going to sit.
Step three: When mounting on the wall, you will typically want to locate a stud to mount it into. You can do this with a stud finder or a magnet. Typically studs are every 16" apart.
Step four: Determine the height. The optimal height for a TV is typically at eye level when seated, which is usually around 42" from the floor.
Step five: Attach the mount to the wall using the appropriate anchors and screws. You will want to ensure that it is level as well.
Step six: Attach the TV to the mount. Carefully lift the TV and attach it to the mount. Make sure to follow the instructions included with the mount.
Step seven: Secure the cables. Make sure all of the wires are connected correctly and securely. Then hide the cables using cable management systems or wall coverings.
Step eight: Enjoy your TV! Sit back and enjoy the game!
